Hi all,
Happy days are here again..The *&$@#* international break's over, and we can finally look forward to some high quality football, quite unlike wat happened with Gary Neville and Robinson. Serves both of them right. Hilarious. Is it just me or did the international break seem to take ages??? Anyways, lets move straight on to the news..
First, the big bad one. Freddie Ljunberg, Emmanuel Eboue and Julio Baptista are all out of the Hornets game tomorrow. And Sir William's fitness will have to be assessed. Damned, confounded internationals. Arseblogger predicts Justin Hoyte to move to right back, as Lauren is still a long way from being fit. Good point. And i'd like to see Theo start for once. He's in such awesome form now.
And speaking of Theo, for those of you who missed his goals against Germany U-21, you really missed somethin, guys. You can watch both the goals below. Amazingly, frighteningly similar to Thierry Henry. Its actually a nice kind of 'frightening', as Arseblogger puts it. My exact sentiments. About the first, watch his beautiful control, and the ever-so-familiar inside foot curve into the corner. And about the second, he exhibits magic pace, and leaves the hapless defender panting, so very reminiscent of the King Henry. Good on you, kid.
Lets hope he starts tomorrow.
In news about the Hornets, their boss Adrian Boothroyd accepts his team are light years away from playing better than Arsenal, and understands his club's situation. He also showed the world what good taste he has when he said this :
"I want us to be a better football team than Arsenal, but we are light years away from that," he said.
"I have two options. I can either play through the thirds of the pitch, like Arsenal, or I can look at what I have and adapt accordingly.
"We want to reach their level, but, for now, we need performances and results. We have to work hard at what we are good at over a period of time, and try to add to that."
He also exalted our Manager policy, and praised Wenger :
"The average life expectancy of a football manager is something like 11 months, which is ridiculous. Clubs have a responsibility to put this right.
"Longer contracts should be given to managers, and more care should be taken when appointing them. Everything should be checked thoroughly. "
I'm beginning to like him. Impeccable taste he's got.
In other Hornets news, they have a defender boost in veteran left back Chris Powell declaring himself fit for tomorrows game. Gives them a sporting chance, i suppose. As far as i can see it, its going to be a 2-0 or 3-0 victory to us. And i hope Theo scores.
In transfer news, Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies has revealed that Arsenal will launch a bid for young striker Steven Naismith in January. For those who dont know him, he's a 20 year old striker, who's regarded one of the most promising young marksmen in Scotland. And Wenger already has his beady eyes on him. Doesn't miss a trick, that man.
Thats about it, then. Here's the likely squads for tomorrow:
Arsenal (from): Lehmann, Toure, Gallas, Hoyte, Djourou, Hleb, Fabregas, Gilberto, Henry, van Persie, Rosicky, Adebayor, Almunia, Flamini, Walcott, Song, Aliadiere, Connolly.
Watford (from): Foster, Lee, DeMerit, Shittu, Mackay, Stewart, Powell, Mariappa, Doyley, Smith, Mahon, Francis, Bouazza, Spring, Bangura, Jarrett, McNamee, King, Young, Henderson, Priskin.
Please do check on GoonerWorld about half an hour before kickoff tomorrow for live streaming links. They should be up by then , if there're no problems. And again, i request you to leave your comments and feedback. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
As always,
Good day and God bless..
UPDATE : We've just had news that Theo Walcott will indeed be starting against Watford. Guess he's be at right midfield. Watch out, Hornets..
