SuperVan rescues Arsenal again..

Yesterday's was a frustrating game.

A draw for Arsenal, even though they dominated the second half. A couple of clear chances missed ensured that Everton held on to a draw. Just wat the doc didnt order. Arsenal now trail League leaders Man U and Chelsea by 7 points with a game in hand. Not bad. Lets hope we win everything after this and Man U and Chelsea lose at least one. I know its not nice, but thats the only way we're gonna win the Premiership.


Back to the match, Tim Cahill opened the scoring after ten minutes, and Everton held on with a tight defensive game. Arsenal came out looking different in the second half and dominated. Twenty minutes from time, Van Persie curled in a wonder free kick from just outside the box, past the diving keeper, who managed to get a hand on it, but couldnt prevent it going into the top corner. This sparked off wild celebrations from the players and the fans alike. Everyone was expecting a familiar Arsenal comeback win with some Henry magic. But it was not to be. Everton's defence remained solid and they managed to hold on to a draw. Too bad for us.

On Arsenal's performance:

"Football-wise we played well, but the scoreline was not excellent. I feel in many respects of the game we did very well, but in the final third we lacked something. A little bit of sharpness, a little bit of vision, a little bit of attacking the ball on crosses. But it’s the kind of result that will make us think about what we can improve. Overall I feel the players gave everything, the spirit is great, and the quality is there."

On Everton's negative tactics:

"I have nothing against negative football if it is played with the right spirit. But I think when every time you have a goal kick you have to expect to wait for the keeper to take on the right then he goes on the other side. You know the scenario. It is something you have seen 10 times and it is less enjoyable."

On SuperVan:

"It was a great goal, a great free-kick. I think in the first half we did not bring him a lot into the game, and you can see he can make a difference - especially on set pieces where he is very dangerous."

We all know nothing Wenger says can make us feel better. But I have faith in Arsene. We know the man. He's sheer brilliance. I know right now that Arsenal will bounce back after this draw.

Elsewhere at Stinkford Bridge, Chelski beat Sheffield Utd 2-0, Lampard coming good at last. And at Bolton, Man Utd thrashed the home team 4-0 with Wayne Rooney scoring a fabulous hat trick. Good for them, but i hope they loose soon. I dont like Man Utd, but i respect them and Fergie. They're our natural and potent rivals. Unlike CHelski.
